U.S. House — the office
This library is Side One. It teaches the job.
A United States Representative is elected from a congressional district (or an entire state, if that state has one at-large seat). The House is the chamber closest to the people: two-year terms, the whole House on the ballot every even year. There are 435 voting seats.
These pages are educational. They are not official government notices, not legal advice, and not an endorsement. For the race, use the 2026 House Elections twin.
