How the job fits this community
Ohio’s congressional map for the 2026 ballot is the map the Ohio Redistricting Commission adopted on 31 October 2025. The Secretary of State says those federal lines are the ones used beginning with the 2026 cycle. The 2022 four-year map is retired. Confirm on the Secretary of State, district maps, voter lookup, and the commission.
The 6th on the maps in force is the Mahoning Valley and Appalachian east: Youngstown, Steubenville, and neighboring east-Ohio counties. River towns such as Marietta have sat in more than one memory of the 2nd and the 6th — confirm the official line. Do not teach a retired snake as gospel.
Federal work here is a mill-valley inbox and hill counties. Youngstown files SSA, a shuttered-and-still-working industrial climate, and VA. The hill counties file rural hospitals and USDA. Staff who only know one end are not doing the job.
The Representative is the human hinge between this Valley-and-east map and Washington.
What the job entails

- The purse. The House originates revenue bills. Appropriations decide what actually gets built or staffed.

There is no single Tuesday. In Washington: a visitor from Youngstown and a visitor from a river or hill county. In the district: both desks.
The staff is the office. A serious Member is a serious principal: clear priorities, honest casework, no rumor as policy.
