The Arkansas House of Representatives is the lower house of the Arkansas General Assembly. One hundred Representatives. Article 8, Section 2 (as amended) sets that ceiling. The Senate is thirty-five. The term is two years. Arkansas does not stagger this chamber. All one hundred seats stand every even year. The next regular election is Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Do not import the Senate’s 2-4-4 lots onto this House. The Senate elects about half a class; this House elects the whole body. Do not import Alabama’s four-year House. Arkansas House is two years.

This is not a United States House seat. Arkansas sends four Representatives to Congress on a two-year clock. Those files live under U.S. House. This chamber does not vote in Congress, does not sit in Washington, and does not split a federal district.

This is not the Arkansas State Senate. Thirty-five desks, four-year lots — a different house. This is not the Governor. This is not the Attorney General. This is not a Mayor.

Little Rock is the capital, on the Arkansas River in Pulaski County. Fayetteville is not the capital. Fort Smith, Jonesboro, the Delta, the Ozarks, Pine Bluff, Texarkana, and a timber county that never makes a Northwest Arkansas broadcast hire this chamber — one hundred districts, not one campus.

Arkansas is seventy-five counties. Pulaski is the capital county. It is not the map. A State House district is not the whole state. Seat packets, when they ship, teach this district. This page teaches the chamber.

The House elects its own Speaker. The Lieutenant Governor is President of the Senate. That gavel is not this floor. Do not treat a news comment as the roster. Confirm officers on arkleg.

A Representative has two homes. Little Rock for the session. The district for the people who hired the seat. Staff who only know the gold dome, or only know a Fayetteville campus as the whole state, are not doing the job. The Mayor of Little Rock is a different office (Mayor of Little Rock).

Two years, all up, and a combined-service cap

Amendment 73, as later amended: a person first elected to the General Assembly before 1 January 2021 serves no more than sixteen years, consecutive or not. A person first elected on or after 1 January 2021 serves no more than twelve consecutive years in the General Assembly, then a four-year sit-out. That cap is combined House and Senate service. It is not a House-only three-term stamp from 1992. Consecutive-term math belongs on the official roster, not on a thread. Always verify the current text.

Qualifications: a Representative at least twenty-one (a Senator is twenty-five), a citizen, and a resident as the constitution and statutes actually require. Confirm the current text. This page is teaching, not a filing packet.

Terms of office begin 1 January next following the election (Article 8 as amended). That is not midnight of election day. That is not California’s first Monday in December.

Vacancies are a special election where the law actually calls one. Do not invent a holdover. Confirm on the Secretary of State and arkleg.

The House is the judge of the election, returns, and qualifications of its own members. That is not a campaign objection on social media.

Article 5, Section 5 (Amendment 86): regular session in odd years; fiscal session in even years, built for appropriation bills. A non-appropriation bill in a fiscal session needs two-thirds of each house to even be considered. The 2026 fiscal session sat 8 April through 29 April 2026. November is the hire for the next two years, not a re-run of that sitting. Confirm remaining specials on the Secretary of State.

arkleg and the House Clerk, not a forwarded image

The official legislative doors are arkleg.state.ar.us and arkansashouse.org. Bills, amendments, committee notices, today’s schedule, and the member of record belong there — not on a forwarded screenshot. Session calendars and the House Clerk’s notices are posted on those sites.

The official election door is the Arkansas Secretary of State — Elections. Registration, ballot status, and the sample ballot belong on the Secretary of State and the county clerk in this county — seventy-five of them.

Staff who only know a Facebook page are not doing the job. A constituent who was told “you can vote by text” was not told the truth until a .gov page says otherwise. Arkansas runs a partisan primary and a runoff if one is actually required. Confirm the live instruction on the Secretary of State.

Redistricting of this map is the Board of Apportionment — the Governor, the Secretary of State, and the Attorney General — not a legislative self-draw and not Arizona’s Independent Redistricting Commission. Maps get litigated. Treat a court order and a stay as clocks. Confirm which map a given election actually used on the Board and the Secretary of State.

No new bill in the last three days of a regular or fiscal session (Article 5, Section 34). That is a calendar, not a slogan.

Sole power of impeachment is this floor

Article 15, Section 2: the House of Representatives has the sole power of impeachment. The Senate tries. Senators sit on oath. Conviction takes two-thirds of the members of the Senate. The Chief Justice presides unless disqualified. Judgment goes no further than removal and disqualification (Article 15, Section 1). That split is Arkansas. It is not a trial in circuit court. It is not the Attorney General’s docket (Attorney General of Arkansas). Do not teach a federal impeachment as this file. Do not teach Alaska’s reverse as this file.

Article 15, Section 3 is a different door: the Governor, upon the joint address of two-thirds of each house, may remove certain officers for good cause. Address is not impeachment. Do not mix them.

Equal protection on this map is not a Pulaski-only file. A Delta precinct, an Ozark precinct, a timber county, and a Texarkana street hire the same Constitution. A district that never makes a Northwest Arkansas broadcast still sits in this chamber. The U.S. Attorney and a circuit judge are not this Representative.

Each house judges its own members. Expulsion is this constitution, not a comment section.

Rice, timber, and a bill that is not a pulpit

Care this office actually gives is a bill and an appropriation, not a church. Do not invent a ministry. An ice storm on the River, a Delta flood, a tornado night in the central counties, a poultry-year statute — those land as fiscal-session hours, emergency statutes, and questions to agencies the Governor runs.

Rural hospitals, a state prison, Medicaid as state policy, the National Guard in state status: the House does not command the Guard (the Governor does). It writes and oversees the statutes those desks live under. Chaplaincy that exists in a prison or a Guard unit is that department’s staffing. It is not this page’s pulpit. The gold geometry on this cover is civic grammar. It is not a parish substituting for the General Assembly.

How a page learns a gold-dome House

The Legislature’s own shops — bill drafting, fiscal notes, the Bureau of Legislative Research — are how the work is actually learned. Page and intern openings belong on official legislative and university civic pages, not on a campaign site. A student who wants the civic path confirms those doors on .gov and campus postings.

A fiscal session is how a student learns that even years are built for appropriations first. The House Clerk’s office is how a student learns a calendar. County clerks, the Secretary of State’s Elections Division, and the Board of Apportionment are how election and map work is learned. Pulaski is a county. It is not this chamber. A law-school clinic that files in Little Rock still files in a court, not in a House committee.

Even-year fiscal session already sat

Census and the Board of Apportionment’s map. A fiscal session that is appropriations unless two-thirds says otherwise. An ice-storm year. A Delta flood stage. A tornado watch. Poultry and rice as state files, not slogans. Committee attendance. The last-three-days ban on new bills. Dockets that a bill would actually change. The 2026 fiscal sitting already on the books — the November hire is the next two years, not a re-run of April.

That is situational awareness for this chamber. It is not spy fiction. It is not a Mayor’s night radio. It is not the Attorney General’s case map. It is not a U.S. House whip count.

Seventy-five counties hire one hundred grocery maps

The inbox is a state inbox split one hundred ways: a capital file from Little Rock that is not Fayetteville; a Northwest Arkansas file from Benton and Washington counties that is a campus-and-growth file this chamber still holds as state work; a Fort Smith / River Valley file; a Jonesboro / Crowley’s Ridge file; a Delta farm-and-flood file; a Pine Bluff / Jefferson file; a Texarkana / southwest file; an Ozark timber-and-tourism file; a south Arkansas oil-and-pine file; and a county that never makes a Little Rock broadcast.

The Arkansas, the White, the Ouachita, the St. Francis, and the Mississippi at the eastern line are this hydrology. A desert fountain is not this land. A Gulf postcard is not the whole state.

Missouri is a different state. Tennessee is a different state. Mississippi is a different state. Louisiana is a different state. Texas is a different state. Oklahoma is a different state. Texarkana looks at Texas and remains Arkansas. West Memphis looks at Memphis and remains Arkansas.
