They fund roads, both jails, and the Sheriff’s budget. They do not hire the Sheriff. The people do. Globe City Council is a city body. Payson Town Council is a town body. The Arizona Legislature sits in Phoenix. None of those is this Board.

Coconino is north — Flagstaff is that hall, not the capital. Yavapai is northwest — Prescott is that hall. This county also holds San Carlos Apache land and the Tonto Apache community near Payson. This county government is not those Nations. Tonto National Forest is federal. Staff who paste Phoenix onto Ash Street, or treat Payson as this hall, or file Globe as a suburb, are on the wrong county.

Miami, Hayden, Young, Roosevelt — places, not this hall
Crime in unincorporated Gila — Tonto Basin, Young, Roosevelt, Pine / Strawberry country, the remainder around Globe and Payson that is county — is this Sheriff. Crime in Globe is often Globe Police. Crime in Payson is often Payson Police. Crime in Miami is often that municipal department. This Sheriff is not those badges. The county’s own inmate pages say this Sheriff runs two jail facilities, Globe and Payson. Those houses are this badge’s shop. ADC is the state. Do not send a family looking for a county booking to Payson Town Hall, to Phoenix, or to Florence.
Civil process and court security at 1400 East Ash (and the Payson satellite) are the Sheriff. Rights do not change at the Rim. Remedy for Globe Police is the City. Remedy for a Sheriff’s paper is the Sheriff. Relief when the Beeline ices is this count first.
