Navajo County · Holbrook is the seat · Show Low is larger in the mountains · Show Low is not the county government · Phoenix is the capital

Holbrook is the hall. Show Low is larger. This is not Apache County. This is not the Navajo Nation government.

Navajo County, Arizona, sits on the Colorado Plateau. Holbrook is the seat. Show Low, Winslow, and Snowflake are not the county government. This is not Apache County (St. Johns). Apache Junction is Pinal — a different office entirely. This is not the Navajo Nation government. Window Rock is the Nation’s capital — it is not this hall. This is not Hopi tribal government. Phoenix is the capital of Arizona. It does not sit here. A petrified-wood postcard is a photograph. It is not this hall.

Places include Holbrook, Show Low, Winslow, Snowflake, Taylor, Pinetop-Lakeside (Navajo remainder), Heber-Overgaard, Joseph City, and unincorporated Rim and I-40 remainder. 2020 census: 106,717. This page is Side One for the place. The Sheriff’s job — rim remainder patrol and Adult Detention on the Holbrook complex — is taught at Office of the Sheriff — Navajo County.

Five Supervisors at 100 East Code Talkers. They do not sit in Show Low as this county.

Navajo County lists a five-member Board of Supervisors at 100 East Code Talkers Drive, Holbrook. There is no County Executive. They fund roads, the Holbrook Main Complex, Superior Court on that campus, and the Sheriff’s budget. They do not hire the Sheriff. The people do. Show Low City Council is a city body. Winslow City Council is a city body. The Navajo Nation Council is a tribal body. The Hopi Tribal Council is a tribal body.

The Sheriff is four years, Article 12 § 3, last regular 5 November 2024, next regular 7 November 2028. Not 2026. The Mayor of Holbrook is a city clock. The Mayor of Show Low is a city clock.

Navajo Nation and Hopi overlap this map. Phoenix is still the capital.

I-40, U.S. 77, U.S. 60, and State Route 260 are the through roads. Apache County sits east. Coconino sits west. Gila sits south. Graham touches the far south. Navajo Nation and Hopi lands overlap this county in fact. That overlap does not make this Sheriff the Nation’s police. Staff who paste Window Rock onto Code Talkers Drive, or treat Show Low as this hall, or file “the capital is Holbrook,” are on the wrong county. Phoenix remains the capital.

How a Holbrook public finds the Navajo County desk

Holbrook Main Complex / Board of Supervisors / Superior Court: 100 East Code Talkers Drive, Holbrook, AZ 86025 (navajocountyaz.gov). Sheriff main station: 137 West Arizona Street. Adult Detention: on the Code Talkers complex — confirm the live jail door. Show Low County Complex: 550 North 9th Place, Show Low is a field campus, not a second county. Confirm live addresses on those doors. A student who only knows a White Mountains photograph has not found Holbrook.

This Sheriff still jails at the Holbrook complex. Show Low PD does not. ASPC-Winslow is ADC.

Crime in unincorporated Navajo County — Joseph City remainder, Sun Valley, Rim country outside town limits — is this Sheriff. Crime in Show Low is often Show Low Police. Crime in Winslow is often Winslow Police. Adult Detention at the Holbrook complex is this Sheriff’s house. A.R.S. § 11-441(A)(5) still puts the jail on this Sheriff. It is not a Warden-department split. ASPC-Winslow is ADC — state prison, not this jailer. DPS is the state. Civil process at 137 West Arizona and court security at 100 East Code Talkers are the Sheriff. Rights do not change at a chapter-house line. Remedy for Show Low Police is the City. Remedy for a Sheriff’s paper is the Sheriff. Relief when a rim storm closes I-40 is this count first.

Navajo Nation Police and Hopi Police are tribal. This Sheriff is the county officer.

Care without inventing a trading-post chapel as this county

A peace order served in Joseph City remainder. A transport from detention to Code Talkers without becoming Holbrook Police. Do not invent a church. Do not invent a petrified-wood gift shop as this badge.

What Navajo County actually watches

Court calendar on Code Talkers Drive. A wreck on I-40. Snow on the Rim. Heat on a Painted Desert two-lane. Coordination with Show Low Police, Winslow Police, and DPS without becoming those departments. Coordination with Apache County’s Sheriff is mutual aid between two county offices. Coordination with Nation or Hopi police is government-to-government. A White Mountains photograph does not steal the seat. Phoenix remains the capital.
