Cross County, Arkansas, was formed 15 November 1862 from parts of Crittenden, Poinsett, and St. Francis, and named for Col. David Cross. Association of Arkansas Counties: rich, flat Delta farmland east and west and rolling hills in the center — Crowley’s Ridge. Wynne is the county seat. Wynne is also the large city on this map. Cherry Valley, Parkin, and Hickory Ridge are not the hall. Village Creek State Park is park land — it is not this hall. This is not Crittenden County — that seat is Marion. This is not Craighead County — those seats are Jonesboro and Lake City. Little Rock is the capital of Arkansas. It does not sit here.

The Sheriff is four years, Arkansas Constitution Article 7, § 46 as amended by Amendment 95, on the gubernatorial table. Last regular Tuesday, 8 November 2022. Next regular Tuesday, 3 November 2026. Preferential primary Tuesday, 3 March 2026 (already sat). Primary runoff Tuesday, 31 March 2026 (already sat where needed). Take office 1 January 2027 (A.C.A. § 21-1-102). The Governor is 2026. That is a different desk in Little Rock. Justices of the Peace are two years — a different desk.

Craighead is northeast — Jonesboro is that hall. Crittenden is east — Marion is that hall. St. Francis is south. Woodruff is west. Jackson is northwest — Newport is that hall. Staff who paste Jonesboro onto Union Street, or treat this county as Crittenden with a Ridge, or file Little Rock as this seat, are on the wrong county.

A student who only knows a Jonesboro photograph, or treats Village Creek as this hall, has not found Wynne.
South Falls still jails. Wynne PD does not.
Crime in unincorporated Cross — Cherry Valley country, Parkin remainder, Hickory Ridge roads, Ridge roads off U.S. 64 — is this Sheriff. Crime in Wynne is often Wynne Police. This Sheriff is not that badge. The Arkansas Sheriffs’ Association lists detention with this Sheriff at 1600 South Falls Boulevard, capacity posted 143. That house is this badge’s shop (A.C.A. § 12-41-502). It is not a separate county Department of Corrections that retired this jailer. It is not ADC. Do not send a family looking for a county booking to Jonesboro, to Marion, or to Little Rock as this jailer.

Coordination with Wynne Police and Arkansas State Police without becoming those departments. Coordination with Crittenden’s Sheriff or Craighead’s Sheriff is mutual aid between two offices, not a merger, and not a reason to file Jonesboro or Marion as this hall. A Jonesboro photograph does not steal the seat. Little Rock remains the capital. This remains Wynne.
