Sheriff Election — Anne Arundel County, Maryland

Anne Arundel Sheriff · the arena · the capital county hires this desk in 2026
This is Side Two
This page is the arena for this office. Unique teaching for the job lives on the office twin. The county as a place is taught at Anne Arundel County.
It is not a campaign. Names belong on the official sample ballot. No crown.
The capital county hires a court officer, not a police chief
Article IV, § 44: four years. The SBE 2026 offices page lists Sheriff as a local office on the gubernatorial ballot — same even-year Tuesday as Governor, Attorney General, State Senate, and House of Delegates.
- Closed primary: Tuesday, 23 June 2026 (already sat).
- General: Tuesday, 3 November 2026.
- Qualify / enter: Art. XVII § 4 — as soon as practicable; immediately upon qualification.
- Vacancy: Governor appointment for the remainder.
The Governor is 2026. That is not this oval. The County Executive is a charter desk on the same table — not this oval. The Mayor of Annapolis is 2029. Class II U.S. Senate is not a 2026 Maryland race. A wooden dome in the photograph does not hire County Police.
Board of Elections sits in Glen Burnie
6740 Baymeadow Drive, Glen Burnie, MD 21060. Mail: P.O. Box 490. Not Church Circle. Not the State House. Not Towson. Confirm registration, sample ballot, early voting (22–29 October 2026 on the live SBE page), and mail-in on elections.maryland.gov and voter lookup.
Sample ballot beside a State House
Do not take names from a harbor tour or a BWI rumor.
- Official candidate list / sample ballot — Maryland SBE
- Voter lookup

If a site and the official sample ballot disagree, the sample ballot wins.
What you are hiring — Church Circle, not Millersville
You are hiring the Sheriff of Anne Arundel County — warrants, civil process, Circuit Court security, temporary court holding. You are not hiring County Police. You are not hiring the Superintendent of Detention Facilities. You are not hiring the Baltimore County Sheriff. You are not hiring the Governor.
Read the office page for Jennifer Road as a different department.
Remedy when a writ misses Odenton
A bad service or a warrant handling that missed Deale — this Sheriff’s door and the courts. County Executive is not the internal-affairs substitute for a paper. Not a comment section. Not Baltimore City.
Relief when the South River comes up
A Bay flood, ice on U.S. 50, a closure at the Severn — this county’s mutual aid first. Allegany’s mountain is a different count. Calvert’s peninsula is a different count.
Service — papers, court, not 911
Papers. A Church Circle courtroom. Night hours the office actually posts. That is the purchase. 911 remains County Police.
Due process does not wait for a Naval Academy tour
A levy in Pasadena still needs notice. Confirmation of sale is still the court. The Constitution does not pause because a visitor is in town for the Academy.
Rights from Brooklyn Park to Deale
Equal protection on the capital-county map. Counsel. Property. Humane court-ordered transport. A Glen Burnie tenant and a Deale waterman hire the same Sheriff.
