What this office is

The Mayor of Helena is elected at-large by the people of this city. The charter is commission–manager: a City Commission of five voting members, including the Mayor, sets policy; a City Manager is the chief administrative officer and runs the daily desk. The Mayor presides, is the official head for civil process and ceremony, appoints boards with Commission consent, and delivers a January statement of the city’s affairs.
