Prince George's was erected 1695 from Calvert and Charles and named for Prince George of Denmark, consort of Queen Anne. It is Maryland’s second-most-populous county (2020 census: 967,201). Upper Marlboro has been the seat since 1792. Largo holds many county functions. It is not the county seat. This is not Washington, D.C. This is not Prince George County, Virginia. Bowie is a city. It is not the hall. National Harbor is a place. It is not the government. Staff who paste the Capitol onto Main Street, or a Virginia courthouse onto Oden Bowie Drive, are on the wrong county.

Crime in the unincorporated county is Prince George's County Police. Jail as a local house is Corrections at Dille Drive. Civil process and Circuit Court security at the Upper Marlboro courthouse are the Sheriff. Rights do not change at the Brandywine line. Remedy for County Police is Police. Remedy for a Sheriff’s paper is the Sheriff. Relief when the Anacostia comes up at Bladensburg is this count first.
