The staff is the office. A serious Attorney General is a serious principal: clear priorities, honest casework, no rumor as policy. Indianapolis is the job. The rest of the state is the hire.

A vacancy after the election is succession under this statute, not a tweet. Do not transplant Louisiana’s Saturday onto Indianapolis.
The Code does not pause because 2026 was even. Equal protection does not pause because a county is rural. Fort Wayne does not become the capital because a mailer said so.
