How the job fits this community
New York’s congressional map for the 2026 ballot is the map the legislature passed and the Governor signed on 28 February 2024 (S.8653A / A.9310A). It is not the 2022 special-master map. A January 2026 order against the 11th was stayed by the U.S. Supreme Court on 2 March 2026; that case was then dismissed. Confirm on the State Board of Elections and voter lookup. Queens is split. Brooklyn is split. Look up the address.
The 8th is entirely Brooklyn on the 2024 legislature map: Bedford-Stuyvesant, Ocean Hill, Brownsville, East New York, Canarsie, Spring Creek, Coney Island, Brighton Beach, Sheepshead Bay, Marine Park, Mill Basin, Bergen Beach, Gravesend. Howard Beach and Ozone Park are the 5th, not this seat. Confirm the address.
Federal work here is a central-Brooklyn inbox and a southern-Brooklyn inbox. Bedford-Stuyvesant files a neighborhood and a commercial strip. Brownsville and East New York file housing and a civic campus. Canarsie files a marsh-edge suburb inside the city. Coney Island and Brighton Beach file a boardwalk, a hospital, and a seasonal stack. Staff who still file Howard Beach here are on the 2013–2023 map.
