How the job fits this community
New York’s congressional map for the 2026 ballot is the map the legislature passed and the Governor signed on 28 February 2024 (S.8653A / A.9310A). It is not the 2022 special-master map. A January 2026 order against the 11th was stayed by the U.S. Supreme Court on 2 March 2026; that case was then dismissed. Confirm on the State Board of Elections and voter lookup. Queens is split. Brooklyn is split. Look up the address.
The 7th is a Brooklyn–Queens seat. Brooklyn: Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Bushwick, East Williamsburg, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Cypress Hills. Queens: Long Island City, Sunnyside, Ridgewood, Woodhaven, Glendale, Hunters Point. It is no longer a Lower East Side Manhattan seat. East New York’s core is the 8th. Confirm the address.
Federal work here is a waterfront inbox and a two-borough inbox. Williamsburg and Greenpoint file housing, industry, and a ferry. Bushwick files a neighborhood. Long Island City files towers, a courthouse, and a transit hub. Ridgewood and Woodhaven file a Queens block that is not Flushing and not Jamaica. Staff who still file the Lower East Side here are on a retired map.
