How the job fits this community
California’s congressional map for the 2026 ballot is Proposition 50 (AB 604), adopted by voters on 4 November 2025. The U.S. Supreme Court allowed the map in February 2026. Unless a later order says otherwise, Proposition 50 is the map — not the 2021 Citizens Redistricting Commission lines. Confirm on the California Secretary of State and the voter-status lookup. Look up the address.
The 22nd is the south Valley: the east side of Bakersfield, Porterville, Delano, Wasco, Shafter, Arvin, Corcoran, south Hanford, and west and south Tulare. Proposition 50 added a Fresno slice and a Madera slice. West and northeast Bakersfield are the 20th. Confirm the address.
Federal work here is an east-Bakersfield inbox and a south-Valley inbox. Porterville files Tulare County. Delano, Wasco, and Shafter file north Kern. The Fresno and Madera slices are new on this map — look them up. Staff who treat all of Bakersfield or the majority of Fresno as this seat are on the wrong number.
