This is a regular State Senate election for the whole chamber. It is not a U.S. Senate race. Idaho’s 2026 Senate race is Class II. Idaho has no Class I. It is not the Governor race, though Idaho’s Governor is also on 2026. It is not the State House — that is 70 seats, a different chamber, on the same Tuesday.
A map fight is a court file and a Secretary of State posting. This page does not name candidates and does not declare a map winner.

You are hiring thirty-five State Senators for Idaho — two years, the upper house of state law, advice and consent that is not federal, a citizen session that starts from December 1, a district that is not the whole state. Read the chamber page before you read a mailer. This is not a U.S. Senate seat, not a Governor, and not a Mayor.
Winners take office 1 December following the general. That is Idaho’s clock. Confirm on the Legislature.
A complaint is a paper, not a comment
A resident who was mistreated by a state agency, a confirmation that went sideways, or a district office that would not answer files on official doors: the Senator’s district office, the committee of jurisdiction, the Idaho Ethics Commission where that statute actually reaches, the courts, and — for election process — the Secretary of State and the county clerk. A Facebook thread is not a grievance.
Professional standards for a state employee sit with that agency and with the law the Senate actually wrote. The Attorney General is the state’s lawyer. The Senate is not that complaint box. Send people to legislature.idaho.gov and voteidaho.gov.
If a Senate desk goes empty after this election, the Governor’s appointment from a district-party list is the door. Confirm on the Secretary of State.
Fire, flood, and a Snake year
Relief this chamber actually votes is a statute and an appropriation. A fire year in the timber, a flood on the Boise or the Snake, a drought on the plain — mutual aid and emergency years still run through the Governor’s desk first. The Senate’s hour is the bill that funds the year after, the oversight that asks whether the money moved, and the rural hospital or water statute that was already on the calendar.
Coeur d’Alene is Idaho. It is not the capital. Lewiston looks at Washington and remains Idaho. Mutual aid with an Oregon or Montana county is real. Those counties do not vote in this chamber.
December 1 is the swear-in
Due process on this hire: a primary on 19 May 2026, a special if one was actually required, a general on 3 November 2026. Idaho does not run Alabama’s midnight-of-election-day clock. Winners take office the first day of December. Confirm on the Legislature.
Do not transplant a staggered Senate clock onto Idaho. All thirty-five seats are this even year. The next regular class is 2028.
The Constitution does not pause because a session is a citizen calendar. Equal protection does not pause because a district is a sage county.
Rights on forty-four counties
Counsel. Property. Peaceable assembly on the Greenbelt and in a panhandle precinct. Equal protection in forty-four counties. The right to a sample ballot that matches what the machine or the paper actually shows.
This chamber writes state law that can touch a license, a tax, a school, a prison, a water right, and a vote. It must not treat Boise as the whole state, the panhandle as the capital, or a lake town as the whole map. It must not treat a U.S. Senate race as this desk. It must not crown itself.
Boise is the capital. The people of the district hire the seat. Vote Idaho is the door.
