- Idaho held its primary 19 May 2026. Filing closed 27 February 2026.
- All seventy House seats stand — two per legislative district, A and B. This chamber is not staggered. Do not invent a 2026 race for a different state’s lower house that sits out this year. Do not invent a Nebraska House — Nebraska has no lower house.

This is a regular House election for the whole chamber. It is not a U.S. House race (Idaho’s two congressional seats are a different desk). It is not a U.S. Senate race. Idaho’s 2026 Senate race is Class II. Idaho has no Class I. It is not the Governor race, though Idaho’s Governor is also on 2026. It is not the State Senate — that is thirty-five seats, one per district, a different chamber, on the same Tuesday.
The 2026 regular session already adjourned 2 April 2026. November is the hire for the next two years, not a re-run of the citizen session that just closed. Winners take office 1 December 2026. This page does not name candidates and does not declare a map winner.
Do not transplant Alabama’s four-year House. Do not transplant Hawaii’s election-day oath. Do not treat the panhandle as the capital.

Hiring a Treasure Valley desk that is not the panhandle
You are hiring seventy Representatives for Idaho — two years, the people’s house of state law, two names on every Commission map, the floor where revenue bills start, a citizen session in Boise, a district that is not the whole valley. Read the chamber page before you read a mailer. This is not a U.S. House seat, not a State Senator, not a Governor, and not a Mayor.
Winners take office 1 December 2026. Confirm Article III, Section 3. That is Idaho’s clock. It is not January. It is not midnight of election day.
There are no legislative term limits. Confirm that on the official roster, not on a thread.
Three names to the Governor
A resident who was mistreated by a state agency, a money bill that never moved, or a district office that would not answer files on official doors: the Representative’s district office, the committee of jurisdiction (often Revenue and Taxation or JFAC), the ethics door the statute actually names, the courts, and — for election process — the Secretary of State and the county clerk. A Facebook thread is not a grievance. A Greenbelt group chat is not a filing.
Professional standards for a state employee sit with that agency and with the law the House actually wrote. The Attorney General is the state’s lawyer. The House is not that complaint box. Impeachment, when it is actually this constitution’s file, is sole power in the House and a Senate trial — Article V, Section 4. Send people to legislature.idaho.gov and voteidaho.gov.
A vacancy after this election is still a Governor appointment from a party list of three (Idaho Code § 59-904A). Do not invent a special-election writ as the only door.
After a fire year and a Snake flood
Relief this chamber actually votes is a statute and an appropriation. A fire year in the timber, a flood on the Boise or the Snake, a drought on the plain, a hard winter in a high-country county — mutual aid and emergency years still run through the Governor’s desk first. The House’s hour is the bill that funds the year after, the JFAC question that asks whether the money moved, and the rural hospital or water statute that was already on the calendar.
Coeur d’Alene is Idaho. It is not the capital. Twin Falls is Idaho. It is not a Boise afterthought. Mutual aid with a Washington or Montana county is real. Those counties do not vote in this chamber.
JFAC after December 1
Bills. A revenue bill that must start here. JFAC budget bills with the Senate. A district office that returns the call from a precinct that never makes a Treasure Valley broadcast. A citizen-session calendar short enough that a missed day is a real cost. Papers a constituent actually needs: a status on an HB, a fiscal note, a referral to the agency that holds the license.
The staff is the office. A serious Representative is a serious principal: clear priorities, honest casework, no rumor as policy. The sandstone capitol is the session. The district is the hire. The grocery is the scale.
May 19 already ran; first of December is the oath
Due process on this hire: a primary already held 19 May 2026, a general on 3 November 2026, a Governor appointment from a party list if a vacancy actually opened. Registration, absentee, and Election-Day rules belong on Vote Idaho and the county clerk. Do not teach a shortcut. Do not teach Georgia’s majority runoff as this clock. Do not teach California’s top-two as this clock.
A map fight is a Commission for Reapportionment file and a court clock. Do not transplant another state’s four-year House onto Idaho. All seventy seats are this cycle. Do not transplant the Senate’s thirty-five desks onto this page as if they were the same hire.
The Constitution does not pause because a session is a citizen calendar. Equal protection does not pause because a district is rural. Article III, Section 14 does not pause because a tax bill is crowded.
Petition in forty-four counties
Petition. Property. Peaceable assembly on the Capitol steps and in a panhandle precinct. Equal protection in forty-four counties and seventy House seats on thirty-five maps. The right to a sample ballot that matches what the A and B cards actually show.
This chamber writes state law that can touch a license, a tax, a school, a prison, a water right, a compact, and a vote. It must not treat Boise as the whole state, the panhandle as the capital, or a U.S. House race as this desk. It must not treat the State Senate as this desk. It must not crown itself.
Boise is the capital. The people of the district hire the seat. Vote Idaho is the door.
