This is a regular House election for the whole chamber. It is not a U.S. House race (Hawaii’s two congressional seats are a different desk). It is not a U.S. Senate race. Hawaii has no Class II and no 2026 U.S. Senate race. It is not the Governor race, though Hawaii’s Governor is also on 2026. It is not the State Senate.
An unopposed primary nominee can be deemed elected at the primary (Article III, Section 4). That is Hawaii’s clock. Winners take office on the day of the general election. Confirm on the Office of Elections. This page does not name candidates and does not declare a map winner.
Do not transplant Alabama’s four-year House. Do not transplant Georgia’s January oath. Do not invent a Nebraska House — Nebraska has no lower house. Do not invent elected sheriffs.

Hiring a neighbor-island map, not two congressional ones
You are hiring fifty-one Representatives for Hawaii — two years, the people’s house of state law, a sixty-day session at the open-air capitol, a district that is not the whole island chain. Read the chamber page before you read a mailer. This is not a U.S. House seat, not a State Senator, not a Governor, and not a Mayor. This is not an elected sheriff.
Winners take office on 3 November 2026. Confirm Article III, Section 4. That is Hawaii’s clock. It is not January. It is not December.
There are no legislative term limits. Confirm that on the official roster, not on a thread.
A party list is not a Facebook thread
A resident who was mistreated by a state agency, a money bill that never moved, or a district office that would not answer files on official doors: the Representative’s district office, the committee of jurisdiction (often Finance or Water and Land), the State Ethics Commission where that statute actually reaches, the courts, and — for election process — the Office of Elections and the county clerk. A Facebook thread is not a grievance. A Waikiki group chat is not a filing. Do not send a voter to a sheriff.
Professional standards for a state employee sit with that agency and with the law the House actually wrote. The Attorney General is the state’s lawyer. The House is not that complaint box. Impeachment, when it is actually this constitution’s file, is sole power in the House as to the Governor and Lieutenant Governor and a Senate trial — Article III, Section 19. Send people to capitol.hawaii.gov and elections.hawaii.gov.
A vacancy after this election is a Governor appointment from the same party (HRS § 17-4), not a writ as the only door. Confirm on the Office of Elections.
After lava, fire, and a hurricane track
Relief this chamber actually votes is a statute and an appropriation. A hurricane in the Central Pacific, a lava year on Hawaii Island, a fire year on Maui, a drought on a ranch that never makes a downtown broadcast — mutual aid and emergency years still run through the Governor’s desk first. The House’s hour is the bill that funds the year after, the Finance question that asks whether the money moved, and the ferry or clinic statute that was already on the calendar.
Hilo is Hawaii. It is not Honolulu. Lihue is Hawaii. It is not a Waikiki afterthought. Mutual aid with a California or Pacific partner is real. Those partners do not vote in this chamber.
Sixty days and a ferry to the capital
Bills. A bill that may start in either house. A forty-eight-hour in-print rule. A district office that returns the call from a precinct that never makes a Kalakaua broadcast. A session calendar short enough that a missed day is a real cost. Neighbor-island per diem is a fact, not a slogan. Papers a constituent actually needs: a status on an HB, a fiscal note, a referral to the agency that holds the license.
The staff is the office. A serious Representative is a serious principal: clear priorities, honest casework, no rumor as policy. Beretania is the session. The district is the hire. The grocery is the scale.
Unopposed primary, August 8 already ran
Due process on this hire: a primary already held 8 August 2026, a general on 3 November 2026, a deemed-elected unopposed nominee if Article III, Section 4 actually applied, a Governor appointment if a vacancy actually opened. Registration, absentee, and walk-in rules belong on elections.hawaii.gov and the county clerk. Do not teach a shortcut. Do not teach Georgia’s majority runoff as this clock. Do not teach California’s top-two as this clock.
A map fight is a Reapportionment Commission file and a court clock. Do not transplant another state’s four-year House onto this House. All fifty-one seats are this cycle. Do not transplant the Senate’s thirteen-seat class onto this page.
The Constitution does not pause because a session is sixty days. Equal protection does not pause because a district is a neighbor island. The forty-eight-hour rule does not pause because a calendar is crowded.
Rights on four counties and no elected sheriffs
Petition. Property. Peaceable assembly on Beretania and in a Hilo precinct. Equal protection in Honolulu, Hawaii, Maui, Kauai, and Kalawao — no elected sheriffs. The right to a sample ballot that matches what the card actually shows, including a deemed-elected unopposed primary if one actually posted.
This chamber writes state law that can touch a license, a tax, a school, a harbor, a homestead, a ferry, and a vote. It must not treat Honolulu as the whole chain, Waikiki as the capital, or a U.S. House race as this desk. It must not treat the State Senate as this desk. It must not invent elected sheriffs. It must not crown itself.
Honolulu is the capital. The people of the district hire the seat. The Office of Elections is the door.
