Arena under the gold dome

This page is the arena for this chamber, this cycle. Unique teaching for the job lives on the office twin.

It is not a campaign. It does not crown a winner. It does not tell you who to vote for. Names belong on the official sample ballot.

One hundred eighty two-year desks this Tuesday

  • Election Day: Tuesday, November 3, 2026
  • Georgia held its primary 19 May 2026 and a primary runoff 16 June 2026. Qualifying closed 6 March 2026.
  • All one hundred eighty House seats stand. This chamber is not staggered. Do not invent a 2026 race for a different state’s lower house that sits out this year. Do not invent a Nebraska House — Nebraska has no lower house.

Confirm leftover dates, any special, and the sample ballot on the Georgia Secretary of State and My Voter Page.

This is a regular House election for the whole chamber. It is not a U.S. House race (Georgia’s fourteen congressional seats are a different desk). It is not a U.S. Senate race. Georgia’s 2026 Senate race is Class II. It is not the Governor race, though Georgia’s Governor is also on 2026. It is not the State Senate — that is fifty-six seats, a different chamber, on the same Tuesday.

The 2026 regular session already adjourned 2 April 2026. November is the hire for the next two years, not a re-run of the forty-day clock that just closed. Georgia runs a majority general. If no candidate takes more than half, a general runoff is 1 December 2026. This page does not name candidates and does not declare a map winner.

Do not transplant Alabama’s four-year House. Do not transplant Hawaii’s election-day oath.

My Voter Page wins

Do not take names from a news comment or a text thread.

  1. Official candidate list / sample ballot — sos.ga.gov
  2. My Voter Page
  3. County sample ballot and the elections superintendent in this county (Georgia has 159)
  4. Current Representative of record (not the same thing as the 2026 nominee) — legis.ga.gov — House
  5. Registration and ballot status — My Voter Page

If a site and the official sample ballot disagree, the sample ballot wins. Majority plus a December runoff is Georgia. Do not teach a plurality or a top-two card as this clock.

Hiring a grocery map, not fourteen congressional ones

You are hiring one hundred eighty Representatives for Georgia — two years, the people’s house of state law, the floor where revenue and appropriation bills start, a forty-day session under the gold dome, a district small enough to know the grocery. Read the chamber page before you read a mailer. This is not a U.S. House seat, not a State Senator, not a Governor, and not a Mayor.

Winners take the next General Assembly on the second Monday in January11 January 2027. That is Georgia’s clock. Confirm Article III, Section IV, Paragraph I.

There are no legislative term limits. Confirm that on the official roster, not on a thread.

A writ is not a comment

A resident who was mistreated by a state agency, a money bill that never moved, or a district office that would not answer files on official doors: the Representative’s district office, the committee of jurisdiction (often Appropriations or Ways and Means), the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission where that statute actually reaches, the courts, and — for election process — the Secretary of State and the county elections superintendent. A Facebook thread is not a grievance. A Peachtree group chat is not a filing.

Professional standards for a state employee sit with that agency and with the law the House actually wrote. The Attorney General is the state’s lawyer. The House is not that complaint box. Impeachment, when it is actually this constitution’s file, is articles in the House and a Senate trial — Article III, Section VII. Send people to legis.ga.gov and sos.ga.gov.

A vacancy after this election is still a Governor’s writ. Do not invent a party-committee holdover.

Relief after a freeze and a coast storm

Relief this chamber actually votes is a statute and an appropriation. A hurricane night on the coast, a freeze on a peach county, a tornado in the piedmont, a drought on south-Georgia ground — mutual aid and emergency years still run through the Governor’s desk first. The House’s hour is the bill that funds the year after, the Ways and Means question that asks whether the money moved, and the rural hospital or port statute that was already on the calendar.

Savannah is Georgia. It is not the capital. Dothan’s neighbor across the line is Alabama. Mutual aid with a Florida or South Carolina county is real. Those counties do not vote in this chamber.

Forty legislative days after the hire

Bills. A revenue bill and an appropriation that must start here. A district office that returns the call from a precinct that never makes a Peachtree broadcast. A session calendar short enough that a missed legislative day is a real cost. Papers a constituent actually needs: a status on a bill, a fiscal note, a referral to the agency that holds the license.

The staff is the office. A serious Representative is a serious principal: clear priorities, honest casework, no rumor as policy. Capitol Square is the session. The district is the hire. The grocery is the scale.

Majority, runoff, second Monday in January

Due process on this hire: a primary already held 19 May 2026, a primary runoff 16 June 2026 if one was actually required, a general on 3 November 2026, a 1 December 2026 general runoff if no one took more than half, a Governor-called special if a vacancy actually opened. Polls, voter ID, absentee rules, and registration deadlines belong on sos.ga.gov and My Voter Page. Do not teach a shortcut. Do not teach California’s top-two as this clock.

A map fight is a court file and a Secretary of State posting. Do not transplant another state’s four-year House onto Georgia. All one hundred eighty seats are this cycle. Do not transplant the Senate’s fifty-six desks onto this page.

The Constitution does not pause because a session is forty legislative days. Equal protection does not pause because a district is rural. Article III, Section V, Paragraph III does not pause because a calendar is crowded.

Petition on Capitol Square and in a Wiregrass precinct

Petition. Property. Peaceable assembly on Capitol Square and in a Wiregrass precinct. Equal protection in one hundred fifty-nine counties and one hundred eighty districts. The right to a sample ballot that matches what the machine or the paper actually shows, including a December runoff if one is actually required.

This chamber writes state law that can touch a license, a tax, a school, a prison, a river, and a vote. It must not treat Atlanta as the whole state, Savannah as the capital, or a U.S. House race as this desk. It must not treat the State Senate as this desk. It must not crown itself.

Atlanta is the capital. The people of the district hire the seat. My Voter Page is the door.
