This is Side Two

This page is the arena for this office, this cycle. Unique teaching for the job lives on the office twin.

It is not a campaign. Names belong on the official sample ballot.

When

  • Next regular Mayor election: Thursday 5 August 2027 (four-year Metro clock; last Mayor election 2023)
  • Runoff if needed: 16 September 2027 if no candidate wins a majority
  • Not 2026. Nashville does not elect a Mayor in even federal years. Tennessee’s 2026 statewide ballot is a different office.

This is not a Memphis race. Shelby County is not this river.

Who is on the ballot

Do not take names from a news comment or a text thread.

  1. Official candidate list / sample ballot — Davidson County Election Commission
  2. nashville.gov
  3. Current Mayor of record — Mayor’s Office
  4. Registration — Tennessee Secretary of State

If a site and the official sample ballot disagree, the sample ballot wins.

What you are hiring

You are hiring the Mayor of Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County — four years, strong-mayor consolidated charter, forty-member Metro Council as the check. Read the office page first. Politics, law, technology, justice, ministry, education, intelligence, and outreach on this land are the job. Not a slogan.

Remedy — a Metro complaint, not a Broadway thread

A resident who was mistreated files on Metro’s official complaint and professional-standards doors, not on a comment section. Office of Professional Accountability for police, fire investigation for fire, the Metro Council as a check, and the courts. The Davidson County Sheriff’s jail desk is not this Mayor’s complaint box. Send people to nashville.gov.

Relief — the Cumberland before the state desk

A Cumberland flood, a tornado, an ice night on a Bellevue hill, a fire east of the river. Mutual aid with surrounding cities is real. Those cities are not Metro’s firehouse. The Governor’s emergency desk is later. This hydrant is first.

Service — what a consolidated hire actually buys

Papers Metro has to serve. Transports. A plow on a hill in Bellevue. A ladder company on the river. Streetlights. 311 that tells the truth. The staff is the office. A serious Mayor is a serious principal: clear priorities, honest hub.nashville.gov, no rumor as policy.

Due process — August, not a November transplant

Arrest, booking, presentment, property, permits, hearings. The Constitution does not pause because a radio is busy. Civil service and union clocks are real. Majority to win, runoff if needed. Do not teach a shortcut. Do not move this race onto the 2026 statewide ballot.

Rights — Antioch is on this ballot too

Counsel. Property. Peaceable assembly on Public Square and in the neighborhoods. Equal protection from Antioch to Bellevue. The Mayor is a servant of this Metro, not a brand. Memphis does not vote here. Davidson does.
