The arena · this cycle

Voter-education briefing for the 2028 Mayor race in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Confirm names, dates, and the sample ballot on official election sites — not on social media. Not 2026. Last Mayor election was 5 November 2024. 2026 is three council seats — not Mayor.

This is Side Two

This page is the arena for this office, this cycle. Unique teaching for the job lives on the office twin.

It is not a campaign. Names belong on the official sample ballot.

When

  • Next regular Mayor election: 2028 (four-year presidential-even clock; last Mayor election 5 November 2024)
  • Not 2026. The City Clerk’s 2026 municipal page is plain: three City Council seats, one from each ward. Primary 18 August 2026 / general 3 November 2026 are council, not Mayor.

This is not a Governor race. Wyoming’s Governor clock is a different office. Jackson is not this rail town. Casper is not this plains capital.

Who is on the ballot

Do not take names from a news comment or a text thread.

  1. Official candidate list — Municipal Elections
  2. cheyennecity.org
  3. Current Mayor of record — Mayor’s Office at City Hall
  4. Registration — Laramie County Clerk / Wyoming Secretary of State

If a site and the official sample ballot disagree, the sample ballot wins.

What you are hiring

You are hiring the Mayor of Cheyenne for this city — four years, mayor–council charter, nine council members from three wards as the check, nonpartisan. Read the office page first. Politics, law, technology, justice, ministry, education, intelligence, and outreach on this land are the job. Not a slogan.

Remedy — a plains complaint is a city paper

A resident who was mistreated files on the city’s official complaint and professional-standards doors, not on a comment section. Police professional standards, fire investigation, the City Council as a check, and the courts. The Laramie County Sheriff is not this Mayor’s complaint box. Send people to cheyennecity.org.

Relief — the wind before the state desk

A blizzard on the high plains, a high-wind night that takes a roof, a fire on a winter street. Mutual aid with surrounding towns is real. Those towns are not Cheyenne’s firehouse. The Governor’s emergency desk is later. This hydrant is first. The Tetons are not this skyline.

Service — what a four-year hire actually buys

Papers the city has to serve. Transports. A plow on Capitol Avenue. A ladder company in the wind. Streetlights. A clerk who tells the truth. The staff is the office. A serious Mayor is a serious principal: clear priorities, honest service, no rumor as policy.

Due process — 2028, not a 2026 transplant

Arrest, booking, presentment, property, permits, hearings. The Constitution does not pause because a radio is busy. Civil service clocks are real. Do not teach a shortcut. Do not move this race onto the 2026 council ballot.

Rights — the south side is on this hire too

Counsel. Property. Peaceable assembly on Capitol Avenue and in the neighborhoods. Equal protection on this prairie. The Mayor is a servant of this city, not a brand. Jackson does not vote here. Casper does not vote here. Cheyenne does.
