- Not 2026. The City Clerk’s November 2026 page lists Districts 1, 3, 5, 8, and 9. Council. Not Mayor. Majority to win; runoff on the December date the Clerk posts if needed.
This is not a Governor race. Texas’s Governor clock is a different office. Houston is not this limestone. Dallas is not this lake.

What you are hiring
You are hiring the Mayor of Austin for this city — four years, council-manager charter, ten district council members as the check, City Manager for the daily departments. Read the office page first. Politics, law, technology, justice, ministry, education, intelligence, and outreach on this land are the job. Not a slogan.
Remedy — a 311 ticket is not a rumor
A resident who was mistreated files on the city’s official complaint and professional-standards doors, not on a comment section. Office of Police Oversight, fire investigation, the City Council as a check, and the courts. The Travis County Sheriff is not this Mayor’s complaint box. Send people to austintexas.gov.
Relief — the creek before the state desk
A Hill Country flash flood, a heat night in East Austin, a fire on a limestone hillside. Mutual aid with surrounding cities is real. Those cities are not Austin’s firehouse. The Governor’s emergency desk is later. This hydrant is first. The Gulf is hours away. It is not this reservoir.
Service — what a manager city still buys from a Mayor
Papers the city has to serve. Transports. A ladder company on Congress. Streetlights. 311 that tells the truth. The City Manager runs the day. The Mayor still owes the people a serious principal: clear priorities, honest 311, no rumor as policy.
Due process — 2028, not a 2026 transplant
Arrest, booking, presentment, property, permits, hearings. The Constitution does not pause because a radio is busy. Civil service and union clocks are real. Two consecutive terms is the default cap, with the petition exception the charter writes. Do not teach a shortcut. Do not move this race onto the 2026 council ballot.
