- Not 2026. Albany does not elect a Mayor in even federal years. New York’s 2026 statewide ballot is a different hiring. Do not invent a 2026 Mayor race for this city.
- City offices are exempt from Chapter 741 of the Laws of 2023 — the even-year shift. Albany County’s transition guidance names city offices as not moved. Town seats moved. This Mayor did not.

What four Hudson years buy

Counsel. Property. Peaceable assembly on Eagle Street and in the neighborhoods — the Plaza lawn is state ground; the neighborhoods are city. Equal protection from Arbor Hill to Pine Hills, from the South End to North Albany. Speech. Religion. Disability access at the clerk’s window. Language access at SeeClickFix. The right to a sample ballot that is the Board’s, not a PAC’s.
The Mayor is a servant of this city, not a brand. Manhattan is not this vote. 2026 is not this race.
