What this office is
The Governor of New Hampshire is the state executive. One office. The whole state. The term is two years — not four. Vermont is the only other state on that clock. The next regular election is Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The one after that is 2028. Confirm the clock, and the Governor of record, on official New Hampshire sites. This office has no term limit — that is a clock fact, not a crown.
This is not a United States Senate seat. The Senate files live at New Hampshire Class II and New Hampshire Class III. New Hampshire has no Class I. The Governor does not vote in Congress, does not confirm federal judges, and does not run a House district.
This is not a mayor. Concord is the capital, under the gold dome. Manchester is the largest city. That does not make Manchester the map. The North Country, the White Mountains, the Seacoast, the Lakes, and Monadnock hire the same Governor.

How the job fits this community
The inbox is a state inbox: a capital file from Concord that is not a Manchester mill, a North Country winter that never makes a national broadcast, a Seacoast working-water file, a White Mountains public-land year, and ice on a two-lane that is not a tourist weekend.

What a day is like
There is no single Tuesday. In the capital: a visitor from Merrimack County and a visitor whose drive started in Colebrook, a mountain town that is not on I-93 news, or a mill that is not New Hampshire’s 2nd House district. In the state: a capitol desk, a Seacoast day, and a North Country day that is not Manchester.
The staff is the office. A serious Governor is a serious principal: clear priorities, honest casework, no rumor as policy.
