Voter-education briefing for the 2028 Attorney General race in Missouri. Confirm names, dates, and the sample ballot on official election sites — not on social media. Jefferson City is the capital. Not St. Louis. Not 2026.

This is Side Two — a 2028 hire, not a leftover 2026 race

This page is the arena for this office, this cycle. Unique teaching for the job lives on the office twin.

It is not a campaign. It does not crown a winner. It does not tell you who to vote for. Names belong on the official sample ballot.

Missouri elects this lawyer in presidential years. Last regular: 5 November 2024. Next regular: Tuesday, 7 November 2028. Do not invent a 2026 Attorney General race. The House and Senate stood 2026. They are not this desk.

When 114 counties and one independent city actually vote for this lawyer

  • Primary: August typical — confirm sos.mo.gov when the 2028 calendar posts. Do not treat a guessed Tuesday as filed.
  • General: Tuesday, 7 November 2028.
  • Take office: January 2029. Confirm the live Monday.
  • Map: 114 counties plus the independent City of St. Louis. The City is not a county and not the capital. It still votes for this lawyer.

This is a regular Attorney General election. It is not a U.S. Senate race as the whole ballot. Missouri’s Class III Senate next stands 2028 — a different hire. The Governor is a different 2028 hire (Governor of Missouri · 2028). This desk is the state’s lawyer.

Names belong on sos.mo.gov

Do not take names from a news comment or an Arch thread.

  1. Official candidate list / sample ballot — Missouri Secretary of State — Elections
  2. County sample ballot and the county clerk in this county — or the St. Louis City election board if that is the map
  3. Current Attorney General of record (not the same thing as the 2028 nominee) — ago.mo.gov
  4. Registration and ballot status — SOS voter tools

If a site and the official sample ballot disagree, the sample ballot wins.

There is no term-limit clock on this lawyer. That is a clock fact. It is not a crown for the next name. The Governor’s two lifetime terms are a different hire.

A complaint against this desk is not a St. Louis mayor file

A resident who was mistreated by a state file, a consumer shop that would not answer, or a license that never moved files on official doors: the Attorney General’s shops, the agency of jurisdiction, the courts, and — for election process — the Secretary of State and the local election authority. A Facebook thread is not a grievance.

A St. Louis mayor complaint is a city file. Jefferson City’s mayor is a different office (Mayor of Jefferson City). A county prosecuting attorney is a county (or City) prosecutor. Do not file a state-lawyer grievance at city hall.

Impeachment, when it is actually this constitution’s file, is articles in the House and a Senate trial — not a comment.

After the river and the ice, the consumer door still opens

Relief this office actually runs is a state consumer door, an opinion a board asked for, and the litigation this constitution actually assigns. A Missouri River flood on the Jefferson City bluff, ice on I-70, a Bootheel tornado — mutual aid with Illinois, Kansas, Arkansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Kentucky, and Tennessee is real. Those states do not vote for this Attorney General.

The General Assembly’s hour is the statute. The Attorney General’s hour is the file that is state, not a county prosecutor’s. Read the office page before you read a mailer.

Papers, opinions, the night a Bootheel county asks the bluff

You are hiring the Attorney General of Missouri for the whole state — four years, one lawyer, 114 counties plus the City of St. Louis, not a Governor. Papers a resident actually needs: a consumer status, an opinion process that is Article IV not a rumor, a public-integrity question that is not a mayor’s. The night shift is that whole map, not one Arch postcard.

The staff is the office. A serious Attorney General is a serious principal: clear priorities, honest casework, no rumor as policy. Jefferson City is the job. The rest of the state is the hire.

August primary (confirm), November 7 general — not 2026

Due process on this hire: August primary as the 2028 calendar actually writes it, general 7 November 2028. Confirm filing, absentee, and ID on sos.mo.gov. Do not teach a shortcut. Do not teach Kentucky’s odd-year May as this calendar.

A vacancy after the election is succession under this constitution, not a tweet. Do not transplant Louisiana’s Saturday onto the bluff.

The Constitution does not pause because 2026 was even. Equal protection does not pause because a county is rural. St. Louis does not become the capital because a mailer said so. Kansas City, Kansas is not Missouri.

Equal protection from the Bootheel to an Ozark precinct

Petition. Property. Peaceable assembly on the bluff and in a Bootheel precinct. Equal protection in 114 counties and one independent city. The right to a sample ballot that matches what the envelope actually holds.

This office practices state law that can touch a license, a consumer file, a prison, a river, a road, and a vote. It must not treat St. Louis as the capital, Jefferson City as the whole Missouri River, or a 2026 legislative race as this desk. It must not crown itself.

Jefferson City is the capital. The people of Missouri hire the office. The Secretary of State is the door.
