- General: Saturday, 20 November 2027 if the calendar still requires one.

This is a regular Attorney General election. It is not a U.S. Senate race. Louisiana’s Class II Senate race is 2026. The Governor is a different 2027 hire (Governor of Louisiana · 2027). This desk is the state’s lawyer.

A complaint against this desk is not a New Orleans mayor file
A resident who was mistreated by a state file, a consumer shop that would not answer, or a license that never moved files on official doors: the Department of Justice’s public-protection doors, the agency of jurisdiction, the courts, and — for election process — the Secretary of State, the registrar, and the parish board of election supervisors (this desk is that board’s lawyer). A Facebook thread is not a grievance.
A New Orleans mayor complaint is a city file. Baton Rouge’s Mayor-President is a different office (Mayor of Baton Rouge). A parish district attorney is a parish prosecutor. Article IV, Section 8 does not let this desk take that file without cause and a court. Do not file a state-lawyer grievance at city hall.
Impeachment, when it is actually this constitution’s file, is articles in the House and a Senate trial — not a comment.
After the river and the Gulf in the same week
Relief this office actually runs is a state consumer door, an opinion a board asked for, and the civil (and, only as Section 8 actually gives) criminal file. A Mississippi flood at Baton Rouge, a Gulf hurricane, a freeze on citrus in Plaquemines — mutual aid with Texas, Arkansas, and Mississippi is real. Those states do not vote for this Attorney General.

Papers, opinions, the night a parish DA writes Baton Rouge
You are hiring the Attorney General of Louisiana for the whole state — four years, one lawyer, a Department of Justice, sixty-four parishes, not a Governor. Papers a resident actually needs: a consumer status, an opinion process that is Section 8 not a rumor, a public-protection question that is not a mayor’s. The night shift is 64 parishes, not one skyline.
The staff is the office. A serious Attorney General is a serious principal: clear priorities, honest casework, no rumor as policy. Baton Rouge is the job. The rest of the state is the hire.
October 9 Saturday, November 20 Saturday — confirm sos.la.gov
Due process on this hire: Saturday primary 9 October 2027, Saturday general 20 November 2027 if needed. Confirm qualifying, mail and early voting, and ID on sos.la.gov and Geaux Vote. Do not teach a shortcut. Do not teach Kentucky’s May Tuesday as this calendar.
A vacancy after the election is Article IV, Section 16, not a tweet. Do not transplant Virginia’s 2029 clock onto 2027.
The Constitution does not pause because 2026 was even. Equal protection does not pause because a parish is rural. New Orleans does not become the capital because a mailer said so. A county is not this map.
Parishes, not counties — equal protection on one river
Petition. Property. Peaceable assembly under the tower and in a pine-hills precinct. Equal protection in sixty-four parishes. The right to a sample ballot that matches what the envelope actually holds.
This office practices state law that can touch a license, a consumer file, a levee, a prison, a river, a road, and a vote. It must not treat New Orleans as the capital, Baton Rouge as the whole river, or a U.S. Senate race as this desk. It must not crown itself.
