This is a regular House of Delegates election for the whole chamber. It is not a U.S. House race (Maryland’s eight congressional seats are a different desk). It is not a U.S. Senate race. Maryland has no Class II and no 2026 U.S. Senate. It is not the Governor race, though Maryland’s Governor is also on 2026. It is not the State Senate — that is forty-seven seats, also all up this Tuesday, nested with these Delegates.
The 2026 regular ninety-day session already adjourned 13 April 2026. November is the hire for the next four years, not a re-run of winter.

You are hiring one hundred forty-one Delegates for Maryland — four years, the people’s house of state law, nested with one Senator in each of forty-seven districts, a district small enough to know the grocery even when the Bay is wide. Read the chamber page before you read a mailer. This is not a U.S. House seat, not a State Senator, not a Governor, and not a Mayor.
Winners take office the second Wednesday of January — after 2026 that is 13 January 2027. That is Maryland’s clock. Alabama’s midnight-of-election-day rule is not this desk. Confirm on the General Assembly site.
There is no legislative term-limit clock in Maryland. Do not transplant another state’s cap onto this floor.
A vacancy is a central-committee name, then a Governor appointment
A resident who was mistreated by a state agency, a tax bill that never moved, or a district office that would not answer files on official doors: the Delegate’s district office, the committee of jurisdiction (often Appropriations, Ways and Means, or Environment and Transportation), the State Ethics Commission where that statute actually reaches, the courts, and — for election process — the State Board of Elections and the local board. A Facebook thread is not a grievance.
A mid-term hole in this House of Delegates is Article III, Section 13: the party central committee names, the Governor appoints, the appointee serves the remainder. It is not a special election as the ordinary path. Impeachment, when it is actually this constitution’s file, is articles in the House of Delegates and a Senate trial — not a comment. Send people to mgaleg.maryland.gov and the State Board of Elections.
Bay storm, Shore flood, mountain winter
Relief this chamber actually votes is a statute and a budget the Governor submitted. A tropical night on the Shore, a Potomac flood, a mountain winter in Garrett, a Corridor outage — mutual aid and emergency years still run through the Governor’s desk first. The House of Delegates’ hour is the ninety-day bill that funds the year after, the Appropriations question that asks whether the money moved, and the rural hospital or ferry-county statute that was already on the calendar.
Ocean City is Maryland. It is not Delaware. Cumberland is Maryland. It is not Pennsylvania. Mutual aid with a Virginia or West Virginia county is real. Those counties do not vote in this chamber.
Casework at grocery scale across twenty-three counties and Baltimore City
Bills. A budget the Governor proposed that this House of Delegates must still pass. A district office that returns the call from a Shore precinct that never makes the State Circle news. A ninety-day session short enough that a missed calendar day is a real cost. Papers a constituent actually needs: a status on a bill, a fiscal note, a referral to the agency that holds the license.
The staff is the office. A serious Delegate is a serious principal: clear priorities, honest casework, no rumor as policy. The wooden dome is the session. The district is the hire. The grocery is the scale. Three Delegates in one nested district are still three hires, not one Senator.
June already ran; January is the swear-in
Due process on this hire: a primary that already ran 23 June 2026, a vacancy remainder if one is actually on the ballot, a general on 3 November 2026. Deadlines, mail ballots, and registration belong on the State Board of Elections. Do not teach a shortcut.

The right to a sample ballot that matches what the envelope actually holds — including whether this district elects three at-large or one from a subdistrict.
This chamber writes state law that can touch a license, a tax, a school, a prison, a river, a Bay, and a vote. It must not treat Baltimore as the capital, Annapolis as a beach, or Baltimore City as a county. It must not treat a U.S. House race as this desk. It must not treat the State Senate as this desk. It must not crown itself.
Annapolis is the capital. The people of the district hire the seat. The State Board of Elections is the door.
