The hiring floor is one hundred, not twenty-five Senators

This page is the arena for this chamber, this cycle. Unique teaching for the job lives on the office twin.

It is not a campaign. It does not crown a winner. It does not tell you who to vote for. Names belong on the official sample ballot.

All one hundred after a May primary

  • Election Day: Tuesday, November 3, 2026
  • Indiana held its primary 5 May 2026. Filing closed 6 February 2026.
  • The Election Division’s cycle puts all one hundred House seats on this even year. This chamber is not staggered. Do not transplant the Senate’s twenty-five-seat class onto this page. Do not invent a Nebraska House — Nebraska has no lower house.

Confirm leftover dates, any vacancy remainder, and the sample ballot on the Indiana Election Division and IndianaVoters.

This is a regular House election for the whole chamber. It is not a U.S. House race (Indiana’s nine congressional seats are a different desk). It is not a U.S. Senate race. Indiana has no Class II and no 2026 U.S. Senate race. It is not the Governor race — Indiana’s Governor is 2028. It is not the State Senate — that is fifty seats, twenty-five this Tuesday.

The 2026 even-year short session already adjourned 27 February 2026. November is the hire for the next two years, not a re-run of the session that just closed.

IndianaVoters holds the sample

Do not take names from a news comment or a text thread.

  1. Official candidate list / sample ballot — IndianaVoters
  2. Indiana Election Division
  3. County clerk in this county (Indiana has 92)
  4. Current Representative of record (not the same thing as the 2026 nominee) — iga.in.gov
  5. Registration and ballot status — IndianaVoters

If a site and the official sample ballot disagree, the sample ballot wins.

Two years from the day next after

You are hiring one hundred Representatives for Indiana — two years, the people’s house of state law, the floor where revenue bills start, a biennial budget in the odd year, a district small enough to know the grocery. Read the chamber page before you read a mailer. This is not a U.S. House seat, not a State Senator, not a Governor, and not a Mayor.

Winners take office the day next after the general election — Wednesday, 4 November 2026. That is Indiana’s clock. Most states wait until January. Confirm on iga.in.gov.

A caucus paper is not the grievance

A resident who was mistreated by a state agency, a money bill that never moved, or a district office that would not answer files on official doors: the Representative’s district office, the committee of jurisdiction (often Ways and Means or Appropriations), the Inspector General / ethics doors where that statute actually reaches, the courts, and — for election process — the Election Division and the county clerk. A Facebook thread is not a grievance.

A mid-term hole in this House is a party caucus of precinct committeemen, not a Governor’s seat-gift. Impeachment, when it is actually this constitution’s file, is articles in the House and a Senate trial — not a comment. Send people to iga.in.gov and IndianaVoters.

After a White River flood and a Calumet night

Relief this chamber actually votes is a statute and an appropriation. A White River flood, a lake-effect night on the Calumet, a drought on farm ground — mutual aid and emergency years still run through the Governor’s desk first. The House’s hour is the bill that funds the year after, the Ways and Means question that asks whether the money moved, and the rural hospital or port statute that was already on the calendar.

Gary is Indiana. It is not Illinois. Evansville is Indiana. It is not Kentucky. Mutual aid with an Ohio or Michigan county is real. Those counties do not vote in this chamber.

Casework at grocery scale in ninety-two counties

Bills. A revenue bill that must start here. A district office that returns the call from a farm precinct that never makes the Circle news. A short even-year calendar. Papers a constituent actually needs: a status on a bill, a fiscal note, a referral to the agency that holds the license.

The staff is the office. A serious Representative is a serious principal: clear priorities, honest casework, no rumor as policy. The Statehouse is the session. The district is the hire. The grocery is the scale.

May already ran; November 4 is the swear-in

Due process on this hire: a primary that already ran 5 May 2026, a vacancy remainder if one is actually on the ballot, a general on 3 November 2026. Indiana does not run all-mail. Polls, photo voter ID, absentee rules, and registration deadlines belong on IndianaVoters. Do not teach a shortcut.

A vacancy after this election is still a caucus. A map fight is a court file and an Election Division posting. Do not transplant another state’s four-year House clock onto Indiana. All one hundred seats are this even year. Do not transplant Nebraska’s unicameral onto this page.

The Constitution does not pause because a short session already adjourned. Equal protection does not pause because a district is rural. Section 17’s origination rule does not pause because a calendar is crowded.

Rights on a Unigov map that is not the state

Petition. Property. Peaceable assembly on Monument Circle and in a farm precinct. Equal protection in ninety-two counties and one hundred districts. The right to a sample ballot that matches what the machine or the paper actually shows.

This chamber writes state law that can touch a license, a tax, a school, a prison, a river, and a vote. It must not treat Indianapolis as the state, Fort Wayne as the capital, or a lakeshore casino as the whole map. It must not treat a U.S. House race as this desk. It must not treat the State Senate as this desk. It must not crown itself.

Indianapolis is the capital. The people of the district hire the seat. IndianaVoters is the door.
