This is a regular House election for the whole chamber. It is not a U.S. House race (Colorado’s eight congressional seats are a different desk). It is not a U.S. Senate race. Colorado’s 2026 Senate race is Class II. It is not the Governor race, though Colorado’s Governor is also on 2026. It is not the State Senate — that is thirty-five seats, about half this Tuesday.
The 2026 regular session already used its 120 calendar days. November is the hire for the next two years, not a re-run of the session that just closed.

Two years, four consecutive terms
You are hiring sixty-five Representatives for Colorado — two years, the people’s house of state law, the floor where revenue bills start, a TABOR year, a district small enough to know the grocery. Read the chamber page before you read a mailer. This is not a U.S. House seat, not a State Senator, not a Governor, and not a Mayor.
Winners take office when the next regular session convenes — ordinarily the second Wednesday of January. That is Colorado’s clock. Alabama’s midnight-of-election-day rule is not this desk. Confirm on the General Assembly site.
The eight-year consecutive cap is a clock, not a crown. Confirm who is actually limited on the General Assembly’s own term-limit posting.
A vacancy committee is not the complaint box
A resident who was mistreated by a state agency, a tax bill that never moved, or a district office that would not answer files on official doors: the Representative’s district office, the committee of jurisdiction (often Finance or Appropriations), the Independent Ethics Commission where that statute actually reaches, the courts, and — for election process — the Secretary of State and the county clerk. A Facebook thread is not a grievance.
A mid-term hole in this House is a party vacancy committee, not a Governor’s seat-gift. Impeachment, when it is actually this constitution’s file, is articles in the House and a Senate trial — not a comment. Send people to leg.colorado.gov and the Secretary of State.
Fire year, flood year, compact year
Relief this chamber actually votes is a statute and an appropriation. A wildfire night on the Western Slope, a South Platte flood, a compact call on water that leaves at the Utah line — mutual aid and emergency years still run through the Governor’s desk first. The House’s hour is the bill that funds the year after, the Finance question that asks whether the money moved, and the rural hospital or pass-county statute that was already on the calendar.
Grand Junction is Colorado. It is not Utah. Trinidad is Colorado. It is not New Mexico. Mutual aid with a Wyoming or Kansas county is real. Those counties do not vote in this chamber.
Casework at grocery scale
Bills. A revenue bill that must start here. TABOR. A district office that returns the call from a plains precinct that never makes the Civic Center news. A 120-day session short enough that a missed calendar day is a real cost. Papers a constituent actually needs: a status on a bill, a fiscal note, a referral to the agency that holds the license.
The staff is the office. A serious Representative is a serious principal: clear priorities, honest casework, no rumor as policy. The gold dome is the session. The district is the hire. The grocery is the scale.
June already ran; January is the swear-in
Due process on this hire: a primary that already ran 30 June 2026, a vacancy remainder if one is actually on the ballot, a general on 3 November 2026. Colorado is a mail-ballot state. Deadlines, signature cure, and registration belong on the Secretary of State. Do not teach a shortcut.

The Constitution does not pause because a session is 120 calendar days. Equal protection does not pause because a district is rural. TABOR does not pause because a calendar is crowded.

Petition. Property. Peaceable assembly on Civic Center and in a plains precinct. Equal protection in sixty-four counties and sixty-five districts. The right to a sample ballot that matches what the envelope actually holds.
This chamber writes state law that can touch a license, a tax, a school, a prison, a river, and a vote. It must not treat Denver as the state, Colorado Springs as the capital, or a ski town as the whole map. It must not treat a U.S. House race as this desk. It must not treat the State Senate as this desk. It must not crown itself.
