The 2030 clock — not November 2026
- Next regular Mayor election: second Tuesday of February 2030 (four-year municipal clock; last Mayor election 10 February 2026)
- Runoff: first Tuesday of April 2030 if no candidate takes a majority
- Swearing-in: Tuesday four weeks after the scheduled runoff date, whether a runoff is needed or not
- Not November 2026. Oklahoma City’s municipal already ran in February 2026. Do not invent a November Mayor race for this city. Oklahoma’s November 2026 statewide ballot is a different hiring.
- Filing: three days in early December the year before, with the Oklahoma County Election Board. $200 or 2,500 eligible-voter signatures for Mayor. Confirm the live notice.

This is not a Governor race. Oklahoma’s Governor clock is a different office. A Council odd-year is not this Mayor race.

Read the office page first. Politics, law, technology, justice, ministry, education, intelligence, and outreach on this land are the job. Not a slogan.
When a night went wrong on a far-ward arterial

Tornado. Ice storm. Heat. Grass fire on a ward edge. North Canadian flood. Mutual aid across this metro is real. Tulsa is not Oklahoma City’s firehouse. The Governor’s emergency desk is later. This hydrant is first.
911 is the life call. 311 is the next morning’s work order. Confirm warnings and closures on official city and National Weather Service products — not on a group chat.
What four prairie years buy
Four years of a part-time Mayor who votes citywide. Eight ward Councilors. A City Manager who still runs police, fire, EMS, lights, and the budget the Council adopts. 311 that actually closes tickets on a city this wide. Plows. Trash. Papers the city has to serve. Transports. A ladder company on a far-ward block. Streetlights on a street Bricktown never prints. Sirens that actually mean something.
The staff is the office. A serious Mayor is a serious principal: clear priorities, honest 311, no rumor as policy. You are not hiring a Governor. You are not hiring a sheriff. You are not hiring Tulsa. You are not hiring a strong Mayor this 1927 charter does not write.
The February clock
Arrest, booking, presentment, property, permits, hearings, civil service. The Constitution does not pause because a radio is busy. The three-day December filing, the February general, the April runoff if it is on, the swearing-in four weeks later — those are rights with a procedure, not slogans. Charter Article X and the County Election Board calendar set the dates. Do not teach a shortcut.
A vacancy is a charter machine. Confirm with the City Clerk. Ethics Commission rules for municipal candidates are real. Confirm at ok.gov/ethics.
Rights this prairie must not run over
Counsel. Property. Peaceable assembly on the civic plaza and in the wards — the Capitol grounds are state; the wards are city. Equal protection from Ward 1 to Ward 8, including the pieces of this city that sit in four counties. Speech. Religion. Disability access at the 311 window. The right to a sample ballot that is the Election Board’s, not a PAC’s.
The Mayor is a servant of this city, not a brand. Tulsa is not this vote. November 2026 is not this race.
