Voter-education briefing for the April 2027 Mayor race in Jefferson City, Missouri. Confirm names, dates, and the sample ballot on official election sites — not on social media. Not 2026. Last Mayor election was 4 April 2023. 2026 is a five-ward Council clock. Next regular municipal election for Mayor is April 2027.

This is Side Two

This page is the arena for this office, this cycle. Unique teaching for the job lives on the office twin.

It is not a campaign. Names belong on the official sample ballot.

When — April 2027, not 2026

  • Next regular Mayor election: April 2027 (four-year municipal clock; last Mayor election 4 April 2023)
  • Not 2026. Jefferson City’s own elections page lists 7 April 2026 as Council — one seat from each of five wards. The Mayor is not on that ballot.

This is not a Governor race. Missouri’s Governor clock is a different office. The 2026 statewide ballot is not this Mayor’s hiring.

Who is on the ballot

Do not take names from a news comment or a text thread.

  1. Official candidate list / sample ballot — City Elections
  2. City of Jefferson — jeffersoncitymo.gov
  3. Current Mayor of record — Meet the Mayor
  4. County clerks who run the poll — Cole County and Callaway County
  5. Registration — Missouri Secretary of State

If a site and the official sample ballot disagree, the sample ballot wins. City elections here are non-partisan.

What you are hiring

You are hiring the Mayor of Jefferson City for this city — four years, Mayor–Council with a City Administrator, five-ward Council as the check. Read the office page first. Politics, law, technology, justice, ministry, education, intelligence, and outreach on this land are the job. Not a slogan. St. Louis is a different city. Kansas City is a different city.

Remedy — when a Jefferson City street went wrong

A resident who was mistreated files on the city’s official complaint and professional-standards doors, not on a comment section. Internal affairs for police, fire investigation for fire, the City Council as a check, and the courts. The Cole County courthouse is not the Mayor’s complaint box. Send people to jeffersoncitymo.gov.

Relief — river flood before the state desk

Missouri River surge, blizzard, heat, a wreck on U.S. 54, a water-main break on the bluff. Mutual aid with surrounding towns is real. Columbia is not Jefferson City’s firehouse. The Governor’s emergency desk is later — even though the State Capitol sits on this hill. This hydrant is first.

Service — High Street is the job

Papers the city has to serve. Transports. A plow on a river hill. A ladder company on the waterfront. Streetlights. The staff is the office. A serious Mayor is a serious principal: clear priorities, honest service requests, no rumor as policy.

Due process — April municipal is the clock

Arrest, booking, presentment, property, permits, hearings. The Constitution does not pause because a radio is busy. Civil service and union clocks are real. Filing for this office runs through the City Clerk, not a campaign site. Do not teach a shortcut.

Rights — five wards, one hire

Counsel. Property. Peaceable assembly on the capitol grounds and in the neighborhoods. Equal protection from every ward, including the Callaway piece. The Mayor is a servant of this city, not a brand.
