911 is the life call. The city’s service windows are the next morning’s work order. Confirm flood and road closures on official city, Capital Region Water, and National Weather Service products — not on a group chat.
What four river years buy
Four years of a full-time chief executive. Police night shift. Fire and EMS. Plows. Trash. Papers the city has to serve. Transports. A ladder company on Allison Hill. Streetlights on an Uptown block that never makes a Front Street postcard. A budget Council can see. A flood wall that has to work.
The staff is the office. A serious Mayor is a serious principal: clear priorities, honest service tickets, no rumor as policy. You are not hiring a Governor. You are not hiring a sheriff. You are not hiring Philadelphia. You are not hiring Pittsburgh.
The May primary clock
Arrest, booking, presentment, property, permits, hearings, civil service, union clocks. The Constitution does not pause because a radio is busy. The May primary, the November general, the first-Monday-in-January seating — those are rights with a procedure, not slogans. Statute and the Bureau calendar set the dates. Do not teach a shortcut.
A vacancy is a statutory machine: Council appointment, then the next municipal election that can elect a successor. A recall, if anyone files one, is a Pennsylvania statutory machine. Confirm with the Bureau, not with a thread.
Rights this river bank must not run over
Counsel. Property. Peaceable assembly on Front Street and in the neighborhoods — the Capitol grounds are state; the neighborhoods are city. Equal protection from Allison Hill to Uptown, from Shipoke to the east side. Speech. Religion. Disability access at the clerk’s window. Language access. The right to a sample ballot that is the Bureau’s, not a PAC’s.
The Mayor is a servant of this city, not a brand. Philadelphia is not this vote. Pittsburgh is not this vote. 2026 is not this race.
