Sullivan is a working county on the Connecticut. Smallest of ten by people is not a missing county. Newport is the shire. Claremont is the city. Unity holds the county farm. It is not a Massachusetts abolished map. Commissioners still sit. A county convention still votes a budget. A house of correction still takes a count at the farm. The Sheriff is still elected here.
Keene is Cheshire. Hanover is Grafton. Windsor is Vermont. New London is Merrimack. Do not steal them.

The Connecticut is the west wall. Claremont mill brick is real. Mount Sunapee is a ridge, not a government. Sunapee the town is in this county. Charlestown is a town. Cornish looks at Vermont and remains New Hampshire. A winter storm here is ice on 12 and an isolated hill town. No ocean. No capital dome.

Three county commissioners sit by district. The convention is this county’s House members. The Sheriff, County Attorney, Treasurer, and the registers are elected. Sullivan’s sheriff clock is two years — RSA 653:1. 2026 is on. Smallest-by-people is not a skipped election. March town meeting is not the November sheriff oval.
How a river public actually reaches a desk
Each municipality has its own site. Claremont’s site does not speak for Acworth. The Sheriff’s official listing speaks for process and court in Newport. The house of correction’s listing speaks for custody at the farm. A student looks at that town’s jobs page or that department’s jobs page. Outreach that only knows a lake Saturday is not doing Langdon.
Custody, courts, papers, rights
Crime and fire are municipal. Jail is the county Department of Corrections at the farm. Prosecution is the County Attorney. Rights do not change at the Cornish line. Remedy for a city police issue is that city. Remedy for a jail issue is the superintendent. Remedy for a Sheriff’s paper is the Sheriff. Relief in an ice storm on 12 is mutual aid plus the State. Papers still get served in Croydon.
