Orange County, Vermont

Orange County · Chelsea holds the shire · the law school is Windsor
A small green, a real county
Orange is a geographic county. The shire town is Chelsea. Randolph is larger. Towns run towns. The county is thin: assistant judges, courthouse, county tax, statutory support for the Sheriff. South Royalton is Windsor. Montpelier is Washington. Orange, Massachusetts is a different state.
This page is Side One. The Sheriff’s job is taught at Office of the Sheriff — Orange County.
Land — hills, White River tributaries, Connecticut at Bradford
No capital dome. No Champlain. Tunbridge’s fair is a town fact, not a county government. Staff who paste Woodstock onto Chelsea are on the wrong county.
Politics, law, technology, education
Selectboards. Assistant judges on a four-year clock. Confirm 24 V.S.A. § 73. Vermont State University Randolph is a neighbor. A student uses town pages, the State jobs board, or the Sheriff’s official page.
Outreach, justice, rights, remedy, relief, service
Thetford is not Chelsea. Williamstown looks at Barre and is still Orange. Crime and fire are town, State Police, or a sheriff contract. Civil process is the Sheriff. Rights do not change at the Vershire line. Remedy for a town issue is that town. Relief in a Bradford flood is mutual aid. Service of a paper is still a person at a door in Topsham.
