Little River County, Arkansas, was created 5 March 1867 from Sevier and named for the Little River that crosses this map. Encyclopedia of Arkansas and the live county site: the county is Arkansas’s 59th. Rocky Comfort (later Foreman) held the seat before Ashdown took it for good in 1907. The 1907–1908 Beaux Arts courthouse still stands at 351 N. 2nd Street. A separate County Courtroom Building at 2115 N. Constitution Avenue (built 2023–2024) sits on the south side of the detention campus. Foreman is a city, not the hall now. Wilton, Ogden, and Winthrop are not the hall.
