Howard County, Arkansas, was formed 17 April 1873 from parts of Hempstead, Sevier, Polk, and Pike. It is named for James H. Howard, a state senator. Association of Arkansas Counties: Center Point was the county seat. In 1905, the county seat was moved to Nashville. Nashville, Arkansas, is the hall now. Center Point is not.
