Greene County, Arkansas, was created 5 November 1833 from part of Lawrence County. It is named for Nathanael Greene. Association of Arkansas Counties: Paragould is the county seat. The name stitches two railroad men — Paramore and Gould. 2020 census: 45,736. An earlier seat sat at Gainesville; the 1877 fireproof safe from that courthouse now stands inside the 1997 hall. This is not Greene County, Alabama. Eutaw is already unique on another map. This is not Green County. Little Rock is the capital of Arkansas. It does not sit here. Jonesboro is Craighead.
