2028 Election — Attorney General of Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania Attorney General · 2028 · educational cover · justice civic · American Future Type
This is Side Two — 2028, even though the Governor is 2026
This page is the arena for this office, this cycle. Unique teaching for the job lives on the office twin.
It is not a campaign. It does not crown a winner. It does not tell you who to vote for. Names belong on the official sample ballot.
Pennsylvania elects this lawyer in presidential years, with the Auditor General and the State Treasurer. Last regular: 5 November 2024. Next regular: Tuesday, 7 November 2028. Do not invent a 2026 Attorney General race. The Governor, House, and Senate stood 2026. They are not this desk.
Article IV, Section 4 is on this cycle as a clock: two successive terms, then ineligible to serve continuously. That is a clock. It is not a crown for the next name.
When sixty-seven counties actually vote for this lawyer
- Primary: April typical — confirm vote.pa.gov when the 2028 calendar posts. Do not treat a guessed Tuesday as filed.
- General: Tuesday, 7 November 2028.
- Take office: third Tuesday of January 2029. Confirm the live Tuesday.
- Limit: two successive terms (Article IV, Section 4).
This is a regular Attorney General election. It is not a U.S. Senate race as the whole ballot. Pennsylvania’s Class III Senate next stands 2028 — a different hire. The Governor is a different 2026 hire (Governor of Pennsylvania · 2026). This desk is the Commonwealth’s lawyer.
Names belong on vote.pa.gov
Do not take names from a news comment or a Philadelphia thread.
- Official candidate list / sample ballot — vote.pa.gov and the Department of State
- County sample ballot and the county board of elections in this county
- Current Attorney General of record (not the same thing as the 2028 nominee) — attorneygeneral.gov
- Registration and ballot status — vote.pa.gov
If a site and the official sample ballot disagree, the sample ballot wins.
A complaint against this desk is not a Harrisburg mayor file
A resident who was mistreated by a state file, a consumer shop that would not answer, or a license that never moved files on official doors: the Office of Attorney General, the agency of jurisdiction, the courts, and — for election process — the Department of State and the county board. A Facebook thread is not a grievance.
A Harrisburg mayor complaint is a city file (Mayor of Harrisburg). A district attorney is a county prosecutor. Do not file a Commonwealth-lawyer grievance at city hall.
Impeachment, when it is actually this constitution’s file, is articles in the House and a Senate trial — not a comment.
After ice on I-81, the consumer door still opens
Relief this office actually runs is a state consumer door, an opinion a board asked for, and the litigation Section 4 actually assigns. Ice on I-81, a Susquehanna crest at Harrisburg, a northern-tier snow night — mutual aid with New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, and Ohio is real. Those states do not vote for this Attorney General.
The General Assembly’s hour is the statute. The Attorney General’s hour is the file that is state, not a county DA’s. Read the office page before you read a mailer.
Papers, opinions, the night an anthracite county asks Harrisburg
You are hiring the Attorney General of Pennsylvania for the whole Commonwealth — four years, one lawyer, sixty-seven counties, not a Governor. Papers a resident actually needs: a consumer status, an opinion process that is Article IV not a rumor, a public-integrity question that is not a mayor’s. The night shift is 67 counties, not one Philadelphia skyline.
The staff is the office. A serious Attorney General is a serious principal: clear priorities, honest casework, no rumor as policy. Harrisburg is the job. The rest of the Commonwealth is the hire.
April primary (confirm), November 7 general — not 2026
Due process on this hire: April primary as the 2028 calendar actually writes it, general 7 November 2028. Confirm filing, mail and early voting, and ID on vote.pa.gov. Do not teach a shortcut. Do not teach a 2026 Governor race as this lawyer.
A vacancy after the election is succession under this constitution, not a tweet. Do not transplant Louisiana’s Saturday onto the Susquehanna.
The Constitution does not pause because 2026 was even. Equal protection does not pause because a county is rural. Philadelphia does not become the capital because a mailer said so. Pittsburgh does not become the capital.
Equal protection from the northern tier to a Philadelphia precinct
Petition. Property. Peaceable assembly on the capitol steps and in a northern-tier precinct. Equal protection in sixty-seven counties. The right to a sample ballot that matches what the envelope actually holds.
This office practices state law that can touch a license, a consumer file, a prison, a river, a road, and a vote. It must not treat Philadelphia as the capital, Harrisburg as the whole Susquehanna, or a 2026 Governor race as this desk. It must not crown itself.
Harrisburg is the capital. The people of the Commonwealth hire the office. vote.pa.gov is the door.
